Water damages and what you should know. When we assess water damages in our industry, we have three categories we can classify them into. Category one, two and three.
Category 1: When a water damage comes from a clean water source such as: supply lines, filtered water, hot water heater tanks, etc. Anything that won't hurt your body if it's consumed.
Category 2: Is clean water that has been contaminated while passing through a source that is not clean. Such as: water leaking from a roof, water touching insulation, mold, toilets, and or dirty surfaces. If this water were to be consumed it would make you sick.
Category 3: This is considered grossly contaminated water, meaning this effected water is a biohazard to your body. This can be products of: sewage backup, overflowing black water in toilets, flood water, decomposing bodies, blood, rodent infestation, crime scene clean ups, meth lab clean ups.
