Fast food vs. sit down restoration

Let’s take a moment to think about food, when you’re hungry sometimes you want what’s fastest or easiest. And sometimes when I’m hungry I want the ‘experience’. I am one of those people who get Hangry, angry and hungry when I hit that point, I need food and I need it now! Then there are other times when I want the ‘experience,’ sure I can go to Taco Bell and get a taco or burrito, but I love the experience of sitting down to a Mexican restaurant and having chips and salsa, an occasional margarita, and the choice of a combo plate vs. fajitas.

If we take it to the next level, there is the Primo Experience at a restaurant. Like fine dining, when the waiters offer you a black napkin for your black slacks’ vs a white napkin. Ever have that happen when the white lint gets on your dark garments? Party fowl.

In the end we make the choice of wanting something fast and that will “do for now” vs. an experience and something to get the taste buds tingling, salivating, and ready to truly enjoy every bite.

Attention to detail, that’s important to everyone isn’t it? What will be your takeaway?

I don’t typically budget a water damage insurance deductible into my family vacation. The water can be contaminated, and you could need to remove and replace your carpet pad, linoleum, dry wall typically needs to be removed. When you are considering hiring a new company to come into the confides of your home it can be very stressful. You are trusting people in your space, with your family, to fix your home you have worked very hard to buy. This Blog will explain what makes our SERVPRO, SERVPRO of Gig Harbor/N. As a SERVPRO employee I can be very honest about my review of SERVPRO of Gig Harbor/N. Tacoma. Since day one of working for the Betcher family I have felt at home. Although the environment can be very stressful in a mitigation office, the Betchers always care enough to ask how my day is going. Along with the support that they give my family all year round, the Betchers always come together during the summer and host a summer BBQ for their employees, and at the end of the year with an amazing Christmas Party for their employees and their spouses. The Betchers believe in promoting in house, and there are always incentives to be given to those who deserve it.

Our SERVPRO treats each client more like family than just another paycheck. We understand that the damage to your home is more than a job site, but it is your home. Here at SERVPRO of Gig Harbor/North Tacoma and SERVPRO Mason County, our trained professionals are on call all year long. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30pm, any time before that time or after we have our technicians on a rotation weekly to answer phones after normal operating office hours.

In our line of work: water, fire, mold, and other various damages/disasters do not carve out time to happen during “business hours.” No, unexpected damages/disasters happen, guess what? Unexpectedly! Here at SERVPRO Gig Harbor/North Tacoma and SERVPRO Mason County, we are always honored to serve and support our local community events. Even in times of pandemic we believe in supporting businesses and charities. 

We are very proud to say we have been a four time sponsor of the Swing for a Solider golf tournament. This year marks the fourth annual event and it is by far the funnest event we are apart of. 

The participants are always very grateful with us being there, but all participants come to have a good time supporting a very good cause. 

Swing for a Soldier is an event that benefits the Permission to Start Dreaming foundation. This foundation helps our wounded warriors battling PTSD and their families, providing them with funding, resources and more to help soldiers adjust back to what we consider 'normal life.'

COVID has made life difficult in general for everyone but one cannot imagine how difficult it can be for someone trying to cope PTSD on top of that.

We proudly support our military and service men and women. They are on the front lines risking all for our freedom. Their families sacrifice as much if not more.

It was such a breath of fresh air to be able to see returning faces, new faces and have a day where we can forget the pandemic and celebrate and thank those who work so hard for our country.

We are in awe of the organizers who put together one heck of a tournament with the current circumstances.

General information on carpet cleanings

Here are SERVPRO of Gig Harbor/North Tacoma we can provide a multitude of services to residents and commercial clients. One service we have regular customers call for is carpet cleanings. Not everyone knows about this service we provide.

Basic carpet maintenance is particularly important to you, your family, business and employee’s health.

Did you know your carpet can accumulate up to five pounds of dirt in a year! Yuck! And in business offices it can be more due to the heavier foot traffic in and out.

We recommend you get your carpets cleaned every twelve to eighteen months. Personally, in our household we like to have them done twice a year, one time in the winter after the holidays and the second time in summer. We also have pets; it is a nice reassurance that we are maintaining our carpets.

I have heard one time a year in the summer is a good rule of thumb because the dirt from winter and fall months is done being tracked inside. Either way it is important to keep those carpets clean to avoid dust mites, mold, and food contamination. Having carpets professionally cleaned helps with you air quality as well.

Our friendly employees are trained to clean your upholstery, carpets residential and commercial. Retirement homes, churches, day cares, doctors’ offices, etc. You and your staff can be assured your carpets are approached with care and attention to detailed eyes.

Every situation is different and we do our best to estimate it with having that in mind.

“The team at SERVPRO was amazing. After the 2 straight months of heavy rain earlier this year, a basement room in our office had some water puddles. I called the SERVPRO team at 11:52 and they were on site by 12:15, talk about a fast response time! Nicole and Matt were great and completed a thorough analysis of the of the entire building, which uncovered other minor water damage concerns. I appreciated that they gave us a detailed list and explained what they found. They provided us multiple air scrubbers and had the standing water taken care of that day. Less than a week later, their team completed all the necessary drywall removal. Matt and Nicole stopped by multiple times during the process to check in on the office. COVID-19 Awareness in the community

Here at SERVPRO we are doing our best to educate our community in the COVID-19, how we as a company approach each situation.

Our Instagram and Facebook social media is updated frequently. We do our best to educate our viewership in how we approach each facet of our job. Currently we are posting how long a virus can survive on different surfaces.

Did you know? The COVID-19 can survive up to 2-3 days on plastic, 4 hours on copper, 24 hours on cardboard, 4 days on glass, 2-3 days on steel and 5 days on shoes!!!!! Five days.

Our headquarters is communicating daily with each location on the ever-evolving pandemic we are facing as a nation right now. We are taking this very seriously and making sure each project is looked at and evaluated properly. This helps us to really listen to our customers needs and concerns. We then put together a game plan with our crew, we communicate daily and make sure every detail is laid out precisely.

If your workplace has a positive case of COVID-19 what now? When our team arrives on site, they wear their protective gear, a full body suit, boot covers, gloves, and a respirator.  Each employee has a personal box will this gear in it, along with any other materials they will need after or before the job. We approach the job with special product and tools that help us to fog an area, and then we manually wipe down every surface with hospital grade disinfectant.

Why SERVPRO? Our SERVPRO of Gig Harbor/North Tacoma franchise is locally owned and operated since 1979. We are the second owner of this franchise and a second generation ran company. Our family relocated from Southern California back in 2005 to begin our SERVPRO adventure. Since then, our current owner went from field work to management, and now ownership. Matt is a respected owner who cares about every employee that works for him. He invests in the SERVPRO brand, the employees who represent it and the work we provide to local homeowners and business owners like you.  

We take pride in having our certifications and trainings updated. Our employees come to you with the best knowledge and training in our field. Not only are we experienced in all areas, we provide excellent customer service and attention to details.
